CHP in St. Petersburg to receive new Energy Performance Certificate

GCE-Energo (a member of GCE Group) and Yugo-Zapadnaya CHP, the main power supplier in the south-west of St. Petersburg, have signed a contract on performing energy audit of all systems and equipment in the station.

Yugo-Zapadnaya CHP is a combined heat and power plant with (designed) total electrical and thermal capacity of 570 MW and 660 Gcal/h respectively. The power-generation units of the station operate under the steam and gas scheme which allows to increase efficiency of heat and power generation by 20%.

The energy audit will cover principal and infrastructure equipment of the CHP. The experts will also assess hydraulic mode of the central heating system within the area of CHP’s operation during load transfer from the boiler houses in Krasnoye Selo. Apart from this, GCE-Energo has undertaken to evaluate technical and economic performance of the CHP and to develop energy efficiency measures.

The project is to be finalized by issue and registration of the Energy Performance Certificate in compliance with the requirements of the Ministry of Energy.
